FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Sunday 10/13/19
FanDuel's single-game slates are a great way to make any MLB matchup more exciting, and FanDuel is offering single-game contests for today's ALCS Game 2.
Single-game contests are a different beast. You have $35,000 to fill out a five-man lineup. There are no positional requirements, but there are three utility spots, one All-Star slot, and an MVP position. The player you put in the MVP spot has his points multiplied by two while the All-Star position gets his points multiplied by 1.5. The three utility places are scored like normal.
Today's game features the New York Yankees at the Houston Astros, and the pitching matchup pits James Paxton against Justin Verlander. Houston is a 1.5-run favorite, and our models see the Astros winning in a close game, 4.23-3.71.
Who should you roster in DFS? Let's take a look.
Alex Bregman, Astros ($9,500)
Alex Bregman is always a money play when he's facing a lefty, and that's the case even when he's the slate's most expensive bat. Against southpaws in 2019, Bregman put up a monster .473 wOBA, 50.7% hard-hit rate and 50.0% fly-ball rate with a 14.4% walk rate and 11.9% strikeout rate. Of course, James Paxton can be lethal, but he did give up a 38.0% hard-hit rate and 46.2% fly-ball rate this year to right-handed hitters.
