Matt Adams, 1B, St. Louis Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $3,400

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Matt Adams has an enticing matchup, but with David Ortiz, Freddie Freeman, Mark Reynolds, and Hanley Ramirez also in good spots, he probably won't be too popular. HanRam is the most likely to have a direct effect on Adams' ownership, as he is $500 cheaper and is coming off of a triple-dong game last night.

Why You Should Use Him:

Adams has really been hitting the ball well recently, collecting five extra-base hits over his last five starts. He has a good chance to keep building on that number while hitting in the middle of the order for St. Louis, who is projected for five runs against Andrew Cashner tonight.

Cashner has followed up his disappointing 2014 campaign with an even worse 2015, posting a 5.05 ERA this season. In his career, Cashner has struggled more with left-handed batters, posting a 3.44 xFIP against righties and a 4.19 mark against lefties.

Adams, a lefty, has absolutely crushed right-handed pitching throughout his career. He has elevated his slugging percentage from .335 against lefties to .485 against right-handers, while also raising his wOBA by 99 points. Adams also has a career 37.5 percent hard-hit rate against righties, up from his 22.8 percent mark against lefties.

In his career, Adams has done his best work while facing a righty at home. He has a career .217 ISO and .534 slugging percentage at home against righties. Tonight's matchup against Cashner will take place in Busch Stadium.

Adams doesn't get the attention that a bigger name like Ortiz does, but he has similar upside in a juicy lefty-righty matchup tonight. Give him a long look while constructing tournament lineups.
