Xander Bogaerts, SS, Boston Red Sox

Boston is a team to zero in on today. The Red Sox -- who boast a sick implied total of 5.9 runs, the day’s highest mark -- get a tasty home matchup at hitter-friendly Fenway Park against Texas Rangers’ left-hander Martin Perez.

Perez’s numbers are disastrous. He has taken his lumps on his way to a 5.31 SIERA, an 11.8% whiff rate, and a 10.2% walk rate. Perez has allowed hitters to produce a .325 wOBA in his outings away from home.

Xander Bogaerts is sporting a .383 wOBA with a 10.9% walk rate against southpaws this year. He also owns a .381 wOBA at Fenway Park. Overall, he’s been unbelievably good, mashing to the tune of a .375 wOBA, a .143 ISO, and an 8.5% walk rate -- all of which are career-best clips.

He usually hits third for the Red Sox, and with a fairly reasonable price tag, Bogaerts is a great way to get access to Boston’s filthy lineup.
