Owner of a 5.24 ERA, Michael Pineda is one of the best buy-low targets in season-long leagues because he’s actually throwing the ball extremely well. He owns a 3.30 SIERA, a 27.6% strikeout rate, and a 5.9% walk rate, with the whiff rate being a career high.

Pineda was lights out in June, holding hitters to a meager .256 wOBA while racking up a massive 34.3% strikeout rate. He’s allowed just a 28.6% hard-hit rate away from home, which should come in handy for tonight’s road start against the Chicago White Sox.

Pineda, our second-ranked hurler, gets to take on a below-average White Sox’ offense. Chicago ranks 23rd this season with a .306 wOBA against right-handed pitchers, and the White Sox check in 20th with a .317 wOBA at home.
