Carlos Santana, 1B, Cleveland Indians

FanDuel Price: $3,500

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

What David Ortiz is doing in his age-40 season is getting a bit ridiculous, yet he keeps piling up the numbers. With Boston projected for 4.9 more runs tonight, he'll be popular once again. Joey Votto will likely be more popular than Carlos Santana, too, in a Coors date with Eddie Butler that is expected to result in 5.5 runs for Cincy.

Why You Should Use Him:

Santana and the Indians are projected for 4.4 runs today, which may be a bit conservative with the way Yordano Ventura has pitched this season. After giving up seven runs in his most recent start, his ERA has ballooned to 5.17, which is actually a bit low according to his league-worst 5.58 SIERA.

Both Ventura and Santana have posted pretty even splits throughout their career, so the lefty-righty matchup is basically a wash here. However, it is worth noting that Santana has posted slightly improved power numbers against righties, which boosts his upside in this juicy matchup.

It's also worth noting that Ventura has the third-highest walk rate in the league, while Santana has the 14th-highest walk rate among batters and has walked more against righties in his career. Combine the power upside and the high floor provided by the walks, and Santana comes out looking like a terrific play in any format tonight.
