Hernan Perez, 2B, Milwaukee Brewers

Price: $2,000

Hitting for a .309 wOBA with a .208 ISO, Hernan Perez hasn't exactly been consistent in 2019, but he's also not doing anything to warrant being priced at minimum-salary.

For sure, his 38.5% strikeout rate and egregious 17.0% swinging-strike rate are going to give you plenty of nights with zero fantasy points. But he's flexing some power with a 39.3% hard-hit rate and 46.4% fly-ball rate, and hitting in the high-powered Milwaukee Brewers' offense gives his value a big boost.

The Brewers are in a solid spot today, with an above-average 4.34-run implied total against Colorado Rockies southpaw Kyle Freeland. Freeland's showing a solid 3.99 SIERA to open 2019, and even if we take that improvement at face value (his first two major league seasons saw him post marks of 4.93 and 4.35), his 4.29 xFIP against right-handed bats is nothing special, especially after posting a 5.06 xFIP in the split as a rookie and a 4.42 xFIP last year.

The platoon advantage also tends to mean a nice bump in value for Perez. He owns a wOBA of .329 or better in that split in each of the last three seasons, with an ISO better than .200 in two of those three.
