3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 8/22/18

Despite all the notable names we have to choose from at pitcher, there really isn't one arm that truly stands out on the night. You could make the argument to use Noah Syndergaard, Walker Buehler, Lance Lynn, or even Jon Gray (at Coors Field), but none of them feel like a true guarantee tonight.

Given all that uncertainty, there's plenty of merit to rolling with Jack Flaherty in tournaments, despite a rough opponent in the Los Angeles Dodgers. Flaherty's 30.3% strikeout rate bests all the aforementioned hurlers on the season, and he's rattled off seven straight starts with at least seven punchouts.

The Dodgers may have bolstered their ranks at the trade deadline, but they still hold a 22.8% strikeout rate for the month of August, which falls right in line with their season mark (22.3%). Obviously, this is a dangerous lineup that could derail things in a hurry, but there's still some strikeout potential here, and Flaherty has just as much upside as anyone tonight.
