Eric Hosmer, 1B, San Diego Padres

Eric Hosmer has enjoyed a solid 2018 campaign in his first year with the San Diego Padres, but one area he has really struggled is in lefty-lefty matchups. With Derek Holland taking the bump in a National League West clash, Hosmer makes for a surefire stayaway at the first base slot.

In 129 plate appearances against southpaws in 2018, Hosmer has struggled to a .202 batting average, .252 wOBA, and 20.8% fly-ball rate. This ain't some one-year wonder, either. For his career, Hosmer owns a .298 wOBA, .116 ISO, and 24.2% fly-ball rate off of left-handers.

Hosmer can make for an intriguing option at first some nights, but he's best to avoid this evening.
