If you were to ask someone which player has posted the eighth-best wRC+ among qualified batters this season, chances are Eugenio Suarez wouldn't be their first guess. But it's him. Suarez's 154 wRC+ ranks higher than studs like Manny Machado, Freddie Freeman, Francisco Lindor, and Nolan Arenado, just to name a few.

The Cincinnati Reds get a potentially lucrative matchup at home against Ranger Suarez, who's making his big league debut. Suarez has shown some promise in the minors, but he has posted a strikeout rate below 19% across 15 starts between Double-A and Triple-A, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence in his ability to get hitters out at the highest level. Hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park could also provide a rude awakening for the 22-year-old, and the Reds are looking at a 4.97 implied team total.

In addition to that lofty wRC+, Suarez also leads the league in hard-hit rate (52.2%) and is putting up a ridiculous 62.5% mark in July. With other teams like the Athletics and New York Yankees sucking up ownership, Suarez may not get as many looks in spite of all these tantalizing numbers.
