3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 7/25/18

The Athletics will be immensely popular tonight, but it's with good reason against southpaw Martin Perez and on yet another hot night at Globe Life Park. Oakland has the evening's highest implied team total (5.93), and Perez has only managed a putrid 5.36 SIERA, 12.4% strikeout rate, and 9.4% walk rate over 7 starts. This could get ugly fast.

Just about everyone in this lineup is on the table, so to make your Oakland stacks slightly contrarian, it might not be a bad idea to look lower in the order. Mark Canha is likely to be buried in the eight-hole again, but that hasn't stopped him from posting FanDuel point totals of 31.1 and 12.2 in the last two games. And it's hardly a fluke, with Canha boasting a 41.0% hard-hit rate and 46.2% fly-ball rate versus southpaws and leading to an absurd .386 ISO in the platoon split.

Some regression should be expected off such a lofty mark, but the point is we shouldn't underestimate his upside, regardless of his slot in the batting order. If Oakland goes off again, Canha could work his way into the fun as much as anyone else.
