The Boston Red Sox are almost comically large favorites today, with a -395 moneyline against the Texas Rangers. Even with the matchup's decent 8.5-run over/under, that leaves Texas with a 2.94 implied total, which is the only mark under 3.00 on Wednesday.

The Rangers strike out at an above-average rate (22.7%) against southpaws, and while they do rank above-average in wRC+ (99), that number isn't enough to be of any real concern in a matchup with Chris Sale.

Sale ranks first among qualifying pitchers in both SIERA (2.43) and strikeout rate (36.8%) this season, while his 15.9% swinging-strike rate is good for second. Unsurprisingly, our models project Sale as the day's top-scoring fantasy pitcher.
