The Los Angeles Dodgers rattled off 17 runs last night, but they still figure to remain low-owned as a West Coast game up against the likes of Coors Field. Ivan Nova isn't a total scrub, but left-handed batters tend to have his number. Versus lefties, he's posted a 12.4% strikeout rate, while allowing a .375 xwOBA.
Max Muncy needs no introduction at this point as arguably 2018's biggest surprise. He's putting up a ridiculous .428 wOBA, .343 ISO, and 48.1% hard-hit rate, and he seemingly shows no signs of slowing down. Among batters with at least 100 plate appearances, his .458 xwOBA trails only Mookie Betts. We don't know how long this will last, but until he gives us a reason to doubt him, we shouldn't hesitate to use Muncy in good matchups, and even more so when it's at lower ownership.
