Jhoulys Chacin, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Another offseason acquisition that has gone well so far is the Milwaukee Brewers picking up Jhoulys Chacin. He has a strong 3.32 ERA this year, but his 4.73 SIERA is far worse. Chacin is allowing opposing batters against him to record a 38.9% fly-ball rate and 39.8% hard-hit rate. That sounds like a tasty matchup for hitters, certainly not something we should be looking for out of our DFS pitchers.

Only the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals strike out less often than the Pittsburgh Pirates (19.0%) do against right-handed pitching. Since Chacin has a poor 18.7% strikeout rate to begin with, this is crippling for DFS purposes.

Chacin has a horrible floor-ceiling combination in this start due to his low strikeout potential and poor batted-ball profile. He is a clear stay away in this matchup, even if you are looking for a cheaper option at pitcher.
