3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 6/7/18

While it doesn't quite stack up with Boston's mark, the Houston Astros' 5.03 implied total is still a strong number to target, and they draw a promising matchup against lefty Cole Hamels and the Texas Rangers. And to make their case even better, they'll be playing on the road at the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Hamels has bounced back this year after posting an ugly 4.90 SIERA in 2017, but he's still having a hard time with right-handed bats, getting crushed for a 46.7% hard-hit rate and giving up a 4.26 xFIP.

George Springer has only made 81 plate appearances against southpaws this season, but in that sample he has an elite .425 wOBA and .306 ISO. If we expand our view to include 2017 (up to 245 plate appearances), both of those marks remain very strong -- .417 and .268, respectively -- on a 36.5% hard-hit rate.

Our models project Springer for the most fantasy points of any hitter in action on Thursday.
