Between a low implied team total (3.89 runs), a large slate, and a West Coast game, the San Diego Padres may not even get a cursory look from most DFS players.

But Franchy Cordero has power for days, hitting the longest home run in the majors this year, so don't forget about him against low-strikeout pitcher Jeremy Hellickson. Cordero is hovering around the top-10 in average exit velocity while holding a fantastic .372 wOBA and .247 ISO, along with an even better .422 xwOBA. The strikeout rate holds him back (33.3%), but we needn't worry as much about that against Hellickson and his 16.1% strikeout rate. It's also worth remembering Hellickson wasn't exactly setting records last year with a 5.37 SIERA and 13.8% strikeout rate.

Maybe we shouldn't expect the Padres to score a lot of runs, but don't count out Cordero for a one-off dinger on the cheap.
