Sean Newcomb

Sean Newcomb is Atlanta's lone left-hander in the rotation, and the 24-year-old is off to a fantastic start in his first full season in the Atlanta rotation. He has the highest fWAR (0.7) among Atlanta starters with a 3.38 ERA, 3.19 FIP, 3.43 xFIP, striking out 10.90 batters per nine innings while walking 3.89.

Newcomb hasn't gotten lucky, either, allowing a BABIP of .306 through his first six starts. Opponents are hitting just .223 against him, and his hard-hit rate allowed of 28.4% is 22nd among 90 qualified MLB starters. He was nasty against the Mets this week, too.

In that outing, Newcomb set career highs in innings pitched in a game (seven), hits allowed (two), and his eight strikeouts were one off his career high. He's certainly someone to target in season-long fantasy, especially if owners aren't buying into his hot start.
