No doubt, Kole Calhoun has struggled this season, showing a rise in strikeout rate (29.1%) and ground-ball rate (54.7%), while posting just a .181 wOBA. As a result, his lack of production has dropped him toward the bottom of the Los Angeles Angels' batting order.

But the Angels are in a dream spot against Chris Tillman, who has been one of the worst pitchers on the young season. Over five starts, Tillman owns a 5.86 SIERA, 11.3% strikeout rate, and 11.3% walk rate, so as you might expect, the Angels are looking at a stellar 5.05 implied team total. If anything is going to get Calhoun going, it's this matchup.

And truth be told, there are still some glimmers of hope in Calhoun's profile. Some of his poor results can be attributed to a .230 BABIP, and he's actually making hard contact at a solid 38.7% rate. He's also one of the cheapest ways to get exposure to arguably the best matchup on the board, and if the Angels rattle off a bunch of runs, his bad spot in the batting order will be somewhat mitigated.

Calhoun is an above-average hitter against righties in his career (109 wRC+), so it's only a matter of time before he busts out of this funk.
