Andrew Benintendi, OF, Boston Red Sox

This isn't the first time I've recommended avoiding Andrew Benintendi against a southpaw, but until he proves to be able to hit left-handers at all, he isn't worth $3,000 in the split, much less $4,000.

In his career, Benintendi has a 23.7% strikeout rate, 52 wRC+, 28.6% fly-ball rate and 22.1% hard-hit rate against southpaws. In case you were wondering if he has made any strides against left-handers so far in 2018, the answer is now. In a small sample size of 25 plate appearances against left-handers this season, he has a 36.7% strikeout rate, 16.7% fly-ball rate, 7 wRC+, and no hard-hit balls.

With little progress being made against southpaws, Benintendi is unplayable against them. And it doesn't make things any better that his opponent, Mike Minor, has struck out 25.9% of the left-handed hitters he has faced in his career.
