3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 4/30/18

With high implied totals for the Cubs, Red Sox, Twins, and Brewers, those four teams are likely to garner a good chunk of tonight's ownership. But don't sleep on the Toronto Blue Jays, who are in a good spot themselves against Lance Lynn.

Although Lynn has a 24.4% strikeout rate, that's about the only positive as he's also sporting a 5.50 SIERA, 20.0% walk rate, and 40.0% hard-hit rate. Lefties have been the way to attack him his whole career, with Lynn holding just a 17.6% strikeout rate and 12.8% walk rate against them, while allowing a .345 wOBA. It's also expected to hit 80 degrees in Minnesota, making this one of the top spots in terms of hitting weather.

Justin Smoak is coming off a breakout 2017 campaign (.371 wOBA), and he owns a 41.2% hard-hit rate and 44.5% fly-ball rate against righties over the past two seasons. Although his .344 wOBA thus far may not jump off the page, he's managed a strong .381 expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA), suggesting he's outperformed that mark. Consider stacking Smoak and other Toronto lefties against Lynn as an alternative to the other top hitting spots tonight.
