James Paxton gets a rough matchup against the predominantly right-handed Houston Astros, making him a hard pass in cash games.

But Paxton still possesses one of the highest ceilings on the board, showing a 3.27 SIERA and 30.0% strikeout rate through three starts. He's coming off a 2017 in which he owned a 28.3% strikeout rate, most of which came against right-handed batters.

Jacob deGrom is likely to be the chalk tonight, but he's only put forth a 24.7% strikeout rate thus far and doesn't exactly have a cakewalk matchup against the Washington Nationals. It's risky, but if Paxton is on his game, it isn't inconceivable that he could end up with the highest pitching score of the night.
