David Price hasn't let up a run through his first 14 innings, leading many to wonder whether the Price of old will be back in 2018.

While he could very well be in for a bounceback campaign, the truth is the peripherals don't match up with the shutout innings. Price has produced a run-of-the-mill 20.0% strikeout rate and a 9.0% swinging-strike rate that falls below his career average (9.8%). He's also allowed a 37.8% hard-hit rate with a .189 BABIP, telling us that he's been rather lucky on batted balls, and hard ones at that. Add in a 3.94 SIERA, and there isn't much to support Price's early-season dominance.

On the flip side, Giancarlo Stanton has seen some forgettable nights at the plate to this point, leading to a miserable 42.3% strikeout rate. Between that and the perceived difficult matchup, folks may be less enthused to roster him tonight. But he'll have the platoon advantage, and we know the upside is massive, so consider giving him a whirl while ownership may be more tempered than usual.
