Ronald Acuna Will Have A 25-25 Season

Ronald Acuna, the Atlanta Braves' super-prospect, is starting the season in Triple-A, but he's not going to be there for long. And by that, I mean he'll be down for about three weeks, so the team can gain another year of service time control over him. While that move has generated some controversy in baseball given Acuna's incredible spring, it's the right thing for Atlanta to do under the current rules.

Acuna looked like the best baseball player in the National League down in Florida, hitting .423/.519/.727 with 4 homers and 4 steals in 16 games. Last season, as a then-19-year-old, he raced from Single-A all the way to Triple-A, piling up 21 dingers and 44 steals. If he's given anything close to a full season in the bigs, Acuna seems to be a lock to reach 25 home runs and 25 steals this year. A 30-30 season seemed a bit too bold for a 20-year-old rookie, but 25 of each feels about right.
