We project Cameron Maybin to bat leadoff tonight as the Los Angeles Angels offer a solid 5.12 implied total in a great matchup with Tyson Ross and the Texas Rangers.

Ross has been absolutely brutal in his nine major-league starts this year, posting a 6.14 SIERA. While that's not a huge sample-size, his four Triple-A starts weren't any better as he struggled his way to a 6.53 xFIP.

Maybin doesn't have any kind of a dangerous pop with only a .304 wOBA on the year, but he does do a decent job of getting on base, owning a 12.6% walk rate (especially encouraging against Ross' 15.7% walk rate). When Maybin is on base, he offers big upside, recording 27 stolen bases in 85 games in 2017.

Maybin is down pretty close to minimum-salary, and it won't take much for him to return value in a matchup this good. Our models also project him as the day's second-best point-per-dollar value.
