Patrick Corbin, Arizon Diamondbacks

Starts: August 22st at New York Mets, August 27th vs. San Francisco Giants
ESPN ownership: 39 percent

It speaks to the shift in focus from baseball to football this time of year that Patrick Corbin hasn't risen above 40% ownership in ESPN leagues despite despite a hot month that's seen him tally a 3.11 ERA backed by a respectable 3.67 FIP and 17.8% strikeout-minus-walk rate (K-BB%) over his last 37.2 innings.

The tepid response to Corbin's late-summer surge makes him a viable streamer even in mid-size leagues this week, as the Arizona Diamondbacks lefty lines up to pick on the decidedly below-average offenses in New York and San Fransisco.

The Mets have fared well overall against lefties this season, boasting a top-three team ISO, but that total is heavily weighted by a hot early-season surge on the back of pre-injury Yoenis Cespedes, who carried a (get this) .733 ISO against lefties in 17 April plate appearances. Meanwhile, over the last month, the Metropolitans have been one of the least productive offenses against southpaws -- and it's perhaps no accident that Cespedes' ISO against lefties over that span is a rather mortal .080.

We won't need to go into any advanced contortions to sell you on the home date against the streamer-friendly Giants, who have quite stubbornly refused to break out of their season-long funk, remaining unimpressive over the last month by most offensive metrics known to man.
