Nelson Cruz has been destroying baseballs recently. Among the 350 hitters with at least 10 batted balls in the past 15 days, he ranks fourth in average exit velocity and third in average batted-ball distance.

He has also been making great contact against southpaws all season, turning a 40.3% hard-hit rate and 43.1% fly-ball rate into a .379 wOBA and .213 ISO. That puts him in a terrific spot tonight against Baltimore Orioles lefty Wade Miley, who has a 4.97 SIERA and has allowed a .366 wOBA to right-handed bats in 2017.
