McHugh may have a 5.32 ERA through four starts, but his 4.53 SIERA would suggest he hasn't been quite that bad, and he's still sporting a solid 23.4% strikeout rate and 14.1% swinging-strike rate. For his career, he has a respectable 3.84 SIERA and 28.3% hard-hit rate.
This should give us further pause in rostering A.J. Pollock, who in spite of a 35.3% hard-hit rate, has just five homers and a .307 xwOBA. He also has just a 22.2% hard-hit rate over the last 14 days.
