Berrios has been pretty good this year, too, sporting a 22.6% strikeout rate and 7.2% walk rate.
The problem is his matchup tonight with the Los Angeles Dodgers is a brutal one. For the season, the Dodgers rank third in wOBA (.340), fourth in homers (146), third in hard-hit rate (35.4%) and first in walk rate (10.7%).
On top of the a mountain of a matchup, Berrios hasn't been quite as good of late, posting a measly 16.0% strikeout rate in 19 1/3 July innings.
The night's fourth-most expensive arm, our models have Berrios ranked as the slate's 20th-best pitcher. We don't need to poke the bear that is the Dodgers on a 14-game slate.
