4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 7/21/17

On a FanDuel slate filled to the brim with pitching, even as a contrarian play, you're better off avoiding Zack Godley in a tough matchup against the Nationals.

We're swimming in aces on a slate that includes Chris Sale ($11,800), Max Scherzer ($11,600) and Alex Wood ($10,200). While you can't go wrong with any of them, in cash games the edge goes to Sale, who leads all qualified starters in SIERA (2.49) and strikeout rate (36.4%). The Los Angeles Angels may not strike out much, but we shouldn't be that concerned when Sale is dealing, and he gets a positive park shift in run-suppressing Angel Stadium.

The options widen even further in tournaments, where you can add Yu Darvish ($9,700), Aaron Nola ($9,100), Jeff Samardzija ($8,800), and Trevor Cahill ($8,600) to the mix. For his price, Cahill is arguably the most intriguing, who gets the light-hitting San Francisco Giants, and has a sneaky elite 29.5% strikeout rate and 56.8% ground-ball rate. He put up 51 FanDuel points in his most recent start against this very same Giants team.

Now, let's run through four guys to consider avoiding in tonight's FanDuel contests.
