Luis Severino has been pretty nasty this season, ranking in the top 10 among qualifying pitchers in both SIERA (3.29) and strikeout rate (28.1%) while his 12.1% swinging-strike rate is good for 16th. He also has posted the second-highest average pitch velocity among the 144 hurlers to throw at least 1000 pitches in 2017.

Severino's matchup isn't nearly as good as Bumgarner's, but while the Seattle Mariners do have an above-average wRC+ (106) against right-handed pitching, they also strike out at a middle-of-the-pack rate (21.1%), leaving Severino with no shortage of upside.
