There aren't a lot of guys that have been fanning hitters the way Max Scherzer has this season. He ranks second in strikeout rate (35.6%) and first in swinging-strike rate (16.2%) among qualifying pitchers to go along with a stellar 2.70 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA). The ace also has double-digit strikeouts in 7 of his last 8 starts.

The Washington Nationals are by far the day's biggest favorites (-258 money line) against the Atlanta Braves, who haven't struck out a ton against righties (19.6%), but do rank bottom-10 in overall offensive production with an 89 wRC+.

Strikeout potential is never really going to be a concern for Scherzer, and with the Braves' 3.13 implied total being Friday's lowest mark, he combines an elite floor with a huge ceiling.
