3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/22/17

Despite some high strikeout numbers in June, Jaime Garcia still lacks the upside to use in tonight's DFS contests.

With a bunch of games going on this afternoon, we have ourselves a small six-game FanDuel main slate for your evening's entertainment.

As far as the arms go, Luis Severino ($9,800) looks like the top dog, boasting both the best SIERA (3.36) and the lowest implied team total on the slate (3.63). He's hit at least 50 FanDuel points in three of his last five starts.

Jake Arrieta ($9,500) gets a nod as well, as he has a solid 25.7% strikeout rate, and will benefit from throwing in pitcher-friendly Marlins Park. Note, however, that he's failed to reach five innings in his last two starts, and has been incredibly inconsistent, leaving little reason to use him over Severino in cash games.

Some boom-or-bust value plays include Mike Clevinger ($7,300), who has a 28.4% strikeout rate, but struggles with walks (12.2% rate), and Daniel Norris ($7,500), who doesn't have noteworthy 2017 numbers, but has a 28.8% strikeout rate across three June starts, and a 24.2% rate since the start of May.

Even on a smaller slate, we still need to narrow down our plays as much as possible. Here are three to consider avoiding tonight.
