Any player who can play a professional sport while wearing glasses gets props in my book. Look how excited he is! He looks like the nerdy kid who played Magic: The Gathering and finally got invited to the cool kids' table. Or maybe this is starting to become too autobiographical?

Anyway, Eric Sogard has performed well atop the Milwaukee Brewers lineup, amassing a .426 wOBA, while striking out just 11.7% of the time. He's even in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak.

But as the price tag has gone up, it's become more difficult to enlist Sogard's services. A .386 BABIP suggests the good times won't roll forever, and he only has modest speed. As for the home run power, he has just 11 round-trippers in 1,451 career plate appearances -- three of which have come this year.

Furthermore, the Milwaukee Brewers have a 4.79 implied team total against Chad Kuhl. Normally that would move the needle, but that's a middle-of-the-road figure tonight.

As long as he's leading off for the Brewers, Sogard will have some value down the line, but wait for the eventual price drop.
