Ivan Nova has struggled to get strikeouts recently, sporting a measly 10.3% strikeout rate since the start of May. But given his propensity for grounders, he's still not the most exciting pitcher to attack as he's tied for the third-lowest homers-per-nine rate in the league (0.58) with only five homers given up.

Nova is also typically strong against righties, with a 1.3% walk rate and 59.2% ground-ball rate against them as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Adam Jones isn't quite the power threat that some of his teammates are, and with just a 27.3% hard-hit rate and 87.4 miles per hour average exit velocity over the last 14 days, he seems unlikely to take advantage of Nova's potentially low whiffs.
