Jose Bautista, OF, Toronto Blue Jays

FanDuel Price: $3,400

Wily Peralta had a solid season debut, blanking the Colorado Rockies for five innings with five strikeouts. Yes, I know it's Peralta, and before you roll your eyes, there are a few things you should know.

Peralta had a 2.92 ERA the second half of last season, supported by a solid 3.59 xFIP. In that span, he had a league average 20.8% strikeout rate, which may not seem like much, but it's a big improvement over his 16.6% career rate.

Most importantly, his velocity hit 98 miles per hour in his 2017 debut.

This isn't to say you should roster Peralta, but it should give you pause before rostering any Toronto Blue Jays.

Across his career against righties, Peralta has a 58.1% ground-ball rate and 26.4% hard-hit rate. Adding that to his increased velocity and recent success, Peralta may very well keep the righty-heavy Blue Jays lineup in check. This isn't as enticing a matchup as Toronto's 5.09 implied total would indicate.

Peralta has historically struggled against lefties, so you could still roll with switch-hitter Kendrys Morales ($3,000), and the right-handed Josh Donaldson ($3,800) is still very much in play because he's, you know, Josh Donaldson.

But other than that, it might be best to take a wait-and-see approach against Peralta, and leave Jose Bautista and the other Blue Jays righties for another day.
