MLB Team Power Rankings: L.A. Is Running the Show

We're only a week into the 2017 MLB regular season, but which teams have benefited most from fast starts?

The MLB regular season is a marathon, not a sprint. That's why people shouldn't immediately jump to conclusions when it comes to fast or slow starts from certain players or teams. After all, it's only been a week -- each squad has somewhere around 155 games left to play.

A lot can happen between now and July or August, but that doesn't mean we can't highlight some surprising starts -- both good and bad.

Unlike some other power rankings around the interwebs, ours here at numberFire aren't influenced by hype or the latest narratives. We put faith into our algorithms and use nERD to see which team is the best, which is a metric that represents runs scored above or below a league-average team per game.

With that in mind, which teams have gotten off to the fastest starts? How about the slowest starts? We'll be showing tables that display each team's nERD, current record, current playoff odds and the change in their ranking from the preseason.
