The shortstop position is a bit of a wasteland on Thursday as the highest priced player at the position is Addison Russell. Batting last for the Chicago White Sox and sporting a .237 batting average, Tyler Saladino isn't likely to see much ownership.
Why You Should Use Him:
This is the point where two trends converge together for a great opportunity. So far in 2016, Saladino has sported an ISO of .166 against righties, and he will face Ervin Santana of the Minnesota Twins.
Santana struggles against same-sided bats. Righties see a 3.6% bump in hard-hit rate and an increase in fly-ball rate of 8.9%.
Given the lack of options and the solid matchup, Saladino makes for an enticing play at the position, although his spot in the order makes him tough to roster in cash games.
