The Chicago Cubs have one of the higher implied totals of the day (4.98, as of writing) as they take on Christian Friedrich and the San Diego Padres.

Friedrich has an ugly 4.69 ERA and career-worst 4.87 SIERA through 17 games this season. He also owns an equally uninspiring 5.41 ERA and 4.34 SIERA over his four-year career. Cubs' right-handed hitters will be in a particularly good spot, as Friedrich has allowed a huge .361 wOBA with a 4.70 xFIP against righties over his career.

Willson Contreras has put together a solid rookie season, slashing .264/.346/.434 with a .340 wOBA and .170 ISO through 205 plate appearances. With such a good matchup here, he should have a good chance to build on that success.
