Ian Desmond has been ridiculous this year against left-handers, and the numbers get even more bonkers when he faces southpaws at home.

For the year, Desmond is sporting a .391 wOBA versus lefties, but that wOBA jumps to an eye-popping .467 when he sees a left-hander at Globe Life Park, which ranks sixth in home run factor.

Tonight, Desmond and the Texas Rangers will tangle with southpaw Sean Manaea in a game where Texas has a 5.25 implied total, the highest of the main slate.

Manaea is getting smoked by righties, allowing a .356 wOBA while his strikeout rate dips to 18.2%. We should be targeting Texas’ right-handed sticks, and Desmond is the best of the bunch.
