Joey Votto, 1B, Cincinnati Reds

FanDuel Price: $4,000

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Joey Votto is on fire and has a terrific individual matchup, but with Cincinnati projected for just the sixth-lowest team total tonight, he isn't likely to be an overly popular option. Instead, expect the likes of Edwin Encarnacion and Miguel Cabrera to be more highly-owned.

Why You Should Use Him:

Due to a horrendous start, people do not realize how incredible Votto has been in the second half of the season. Over the past 30 days, no hitter has a higher wOBA than Votto, whose .521 mark is the only one over .500. He also leads in batting average (.462) and walk rate (19.8 percent with just a 12.1 percent strikeout rate) over that span. Quite simply, he has been the hardest out in the Majors over the past month.

Tonight, he'll draw a matchup against David Phelps, who has been much better this season, posting a 2.40 ERA in 63.2 innings. However, if Phelps' career struggles against lefties is any indication (4.29 xFIP), he could be in trouble against Votto, who has crushed right-handed pitching in his career (39 percent hard-hit rate).

With the way Phelps has pitched recently, rostering Votto in cash games seems like a risky proposition, as Cincinnati may not score very many runs as a team. However, Votto's individual potential in this matchup is too enticing to ignore in tournaments, especially when you factor in his probability to fly under the radar tonight.
