Kentucky Downs has 11 races on the turf with three stakes today, including the $500K TVG Stakes at 1 5/16 miles. Which horses should you bet on at FanDuel Racing?

It's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 1:15 p.m. EST, we have 11 races at Kentucky Downs. Using numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Theodore B, Race 9

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2

The boutique 6-day meet at Kentucky Downs continues Tuesday and concludes Wednesday with some of the best turf racing in the county. Let’s continue at America’s only European-style (all turf) racecourse and its unique design for another big day of racing at Kentucky Downs. There are three stakes races with purses of $400,000 or more today.

Race 9 is the $500,000 TVG Stakes for fillies and mares at 1 5/16 miles.

The top picks according to both numberFire’s data and Daily Horse Picks (DHP) projections are Mrs. Sippy (1/1) followed by Theodora B (5/2) and English Affair (7/2).

Mrs. Sippy rates as the class and speed of the field according to DHP, and she finished second by a neck in her 2020 debut last month running 1.5 miles. Theodora B won her last race wire-to-wire a month ago at Woodbine. English Affair posted her career-best speed figure (117) when winning early August from off the pace. That race was only a mile, and she missed the board in her two previous races against lesser grade horses this summer.

Over Thinking (8/1) did not finish well over this turf track in two previous tries in 2019 and 2018. She finished third a neck behind in her recent race at Del Mar with her best speed figure (108) in two years.

Mad Maddy and Herald Angel, Race 10

FanDuel Racing Odds: 8/1 and 12/1

Race 10 is the $400K Untapable Stakes for 2-year-old fillies racing 6.5 furlongs on the Turf. The top pick according to numberFire’s projections is Red Ghost (3/1), who won her debut by 8.5 lengths as a short favorite. Top jockey Jose Ortiz riders her again and runs another furlong just two weeks after her win.

Daily Horse Picks (DHP) projects the two far outside horses to finish top two with Emro (6/1) to win for EPO trainer Brad Cox followed by La Libertee (9/2). Emro won wire-to-wire five weeks ago.

La Liberty won her debut impressively less than a month ago and also adds another furlong off her debut win. We’ll try to cash in at a bigger price with such uncertainty from these young juvenile runners. Mad Maddy (8/1) is the top-rated class horse according to DHP, as she was sired by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. She has finished second in all four of her starts this summer. Mad Maddy will be running on or near the lead.

Herald Angel (12/1) finished second five weeks ago for EPO trainer Mike Maker and has Irad Ortiz, Jr. in the irons.

Kimari and She’s So Special, Race 11

FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1 and 12/1

Race 11 is the $400K Music City Stakes for 3-year-old fillies racing 6.5 furlongs on the Turf. Daily Horse Picks (DHP) projects Kimari (3/1) to win while numberFire’s algorithm has her finishing second behind the winner Finite (8/1).

Finite won her only turf start over this track nearly a year ago and won four more races all on the dirt. She’s been off since March after finishing fourth.

Kimari has two wins and two second-place finishes in five turf races plus a fourth place finish in last year's Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf as one of the favorites. She rates as the top class and speed in the field according to DHP.

She’s So Special (12/1) has Flavien Prat riding for EPO trainer Peter Miller. Her last two races produced triple-digit speed figures, and she was just one length behind the winner last race in July at Del Mar.
