Will Rogers Downs Horse Racing Picks for Monday 5/18/20

Will Rogers Downs is in action today with 10 races on tap. Which horses should you wager on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 2:15 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Will Rogers Downs. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

Decorated For Gold, Race 2

FD Racing Odds: 3/1

At 3/1 odds right behind Race 2 favorite Tickle Bunny (5/2), placing a bet on Decorated For Gold may not be the most exciting wager, but she could very well be the safest choice of this racing slate.

Decorated For Gold has a couple of clunkers in 2020, but her past five races include three top-three finishes (1-7-9-3-2), with her latest being a victory in Will Rogers Downs earlier this month at the same distance (one mile)

numberFire's projections have the filly coming away with the win, and Daily Horse Picks gives her the best odds of placing first, second, or third (50%). DHP also ranks Decorated For Gold number one in both speed and class for Race 2.

Bow And Arrow, Race 6

FD Racing Odds: 8/1

Bow And Arrow's recent track record is a mixed bag (5-6-2-6-1), but he finished runner-up three races ago and was a winner last July.

That up-and-down performance could be giving us some betting value, though. As of this writing, the gelding is at 8/1 odds, but numberFire's model and DHP both view him as a contender in Race 6. Our projections have Bow And Arrow placing second, and DHP grants him the second-best odds of finishing top three (38%).

Drifting West (4/1) could also be worth a look. DHP rates him as the race's best in class, speed, and pace. numberFire's model projects him to finish third.

Lady Orchid, Race 9

FD Racing Odds: 8/1

Outside of a seventh-place finish in early April, Lady Orchid has an impressive resume, including four wins in seven career races and one runner-up.

She finished fourth her last time out by just two lengths, so we shouldn't let one lackluster performance deter us from taking the value at 8/1.

numberFire's projections see Lady Orchid placing third, and DHP has her tied with favorite Spring Steen (7/2) for the best odds of cracking the top three (37%). DHP gives the filly the top class and speed rating of the field.
