Fonner Park Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 5/13/20

Fonner Park has nine races tonight. Who should you bet on for each race at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 5 p.m. EST today, we have nine races at Fonner Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are the best bets for each race.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's Speed Figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions)

Race 1 - 5:00 p.m.

numberFire projects John Arnold (7/2) to pull off the victory. The gelding's recent form has been solid, achieving Speed Figures of 64-plus in five straight races. He's raced twice at Fonner Park, with a sixth- and second-place finish to boot.

The betting favorite is Williston Dude (2/1). The seven-year-old has raced six times at Fonner in 2020, managing just two top-three finishes. That said, his form has been trending up, with his Figure increasing in consecutive races. His most recent race saw him reach 76. He's projected to finish second by our models.

Rulethenight (4/1) has raced 11 times here since 2019, managing six top-three finishes -- including two wins. He's churned out a Speed Figure of 60 or more in each of his last three efforts, after not doing so in three of the previous four. Our algorithm has him placing third.

The Pick: Rulethenight (4/1)

Race 2 - 5:27 p.m.

numberFire's model projects Dreamingndiamonds (6/1) to pull of the upset victory. The filly has raced five times at Fonner in 2020, failing to achieve a top-two finish since her very first race. She has, however, achieved three Speed Figure above 55 in those five efforts.

Fashion Fact (2/1) is the betting favorite and numberFire's predicted runner-up. She has raced seven times here this year, finishing inside the top-three in all but one of them -- including one first- and three second-place finishes. She has attained a Figure of 50 or better in five straight.

Flashin the Cash (3/1) has contested at Fonner three times -- all this year -- and finished first, second, and second, respectively. She has reached Speed Figures above 55 in each of the three. Our model projects the filly for a third-place finish.

Gonewiththebreeze (4/1) has to be mentioned. She has raced four times here in 2020, and has a first- and second-place finish to show for it. Her most recent race saw her reach 59.

Pick: Gonewiththebreeze (4/1)

Race 3 - 5:54 p.m.

J Train (5/2) is the betting favorite and numberFire's projected first-place finisher in this Maiden Special Weight. The gelding has raced five times at Fonner Park this year, finishing as high as second twice. He's churned out Speed Figures of 35-plus in four straight, so they have been trending in the wrong direction.

Pete and Repete's (7/2) form has been trending in the right direction, with the gelding most recently placing second in just his second race at Fonner.

Pick: Pete and Repete (7/2)

Race 4 - 6:21 p.m.

Global Exchange (5/2) is both the betting favorite and numberFire's projected winner, and it's for good reason. The mare has raced three times at Fonner Park in 2020, with two first- and one second-place finish to show. She hit a Speed Figure of 75 in her last race, resulting in a win.

Shady Lane's (3/1) also had an incredible amount of success here -- the filly has finished first in three of her four races at Fonner this year. She has posted Speed Figures above 70 in six of her last seven. Our models project a runner-up finish.

Cheverie (7/2) placed first in her only race at Fonner Park, two weeks ago. The mare attained a Speed Figure of 80 during that race. Let's Go Places (6/1) also won her last time out, with a Figure of 86.

Pick: Let's Go Places (6/1)

Race 5 - 6:48 p.m.

A J Hart has 6/1 odds, yet our models like her to place first. The mare placed first in her last race here, and has had a second- and two third-place finishes in her other five races at Fonner in 2020. Her form has improved in consecutive efforts.

Innocent Sotrm (2/1) is the betting favorite and projected runner-up by numberFire. The eight-year-old hasn't finished outside the top-two in a whopping 11 straight outings. She has placed first five times in her career at Fonner and has achieved more impressive Speed Figures than our model's projected winner.

Chance of Frost (9/2) hasn't raced here in over a year but has won each of her last two races. Her Figures have topped 60 in three straight.

Pick: A J Hart (6/1)

Race 6 - 7:15 p.m.

Diva's Diva (6/1) is numberFire's projected winner. The filly did win her first race of 2020, but her form has been trending in the wrong direction since.

numberFire's algorithm has Put Sarah On (7/2) finishing second. Like Diva's Diva, she won her first race of 2020 but has seen her form drop off thereafter. She has, however, achieved a Speed Figure above 60 in two of her last three.

Lively Spell (9/2) has also raced three times here this year, finishing fourth, first, and third, in that order. The filly had Figure of 58 or better in each of the three efforts.

Pick: Put Sarah On (7/2)

Race 7 - 7:42 p.m.

You're the Reason comes in at 4/1, yet is projected to finish first by numberFire's models. In four starts in 2020 -- all at Fonner Park -- the mare has yet to finish higher than third. The six-year-old's form has been solid here, achieving a Speed Figure of 55-plus in each race.

Dirty Dixie Road (5/2) has raced five times at Fonner Park in 2020, managing two top-three finishes -- though neither of them were wins. She's projected to finish as the runner-up by numberFire. Her form of late has also been stellar, posting figures of 59-plus in each of her last four.

Memories Galore (6/1) has finished as the runner-up in consecutive races at Fonner, and her recent form has been improving. Her Speed metric has improved in consecutive races. The mare is projected by numberFire to come in third.

Another horse who's recent form is certain to intrigue is Stalker (6/1). She has two top-three finishes in her last four races at this track, and, like Memories Galore, her metrics have improved in consecutive efforts.

Pick: Memories Galore (6/1)

Race 8 - 8:09 p.m.

The betting favorite and numbeFire's projected runner-up, S C Angel (5/2), has finished second and third in her last two races at Fonner, after not finishing in top-five in her previous three. She's achieved Speed Figures above 40 in each of her last three.

Kurious Kennedy (6/1) is our model's projected winner. The mare has posted Speed Figures of 53 or better in three straight, though she has just one top-three finish to show for it. She has, however, placed inside the top-three in three of her five outings at Fonner Park.

Scotia Queen (5/1) has raced four times in 2020, all at Fonner Park. Those four include a first-, second-, third-, and second-place finish, in that order. She has only been able to reach a Speed Figure above 50 in 2 of her 13 career races -- both of them coming in the last four.

Ebony Nights (4/1) has shown good form in her two races at Fonner -- including a win in early April.

Pick: Kurious Kennedy (6/1)

Race 9 - 8:36 p.m.

numbeFire's projected winner, Charmin Dixie, currently has 9/2 odds. This is her first race at Fonner after placing first in two of her last three. The mare has had Speed Figures above 70 in eight straight efforts.

Mongol Call (8/1) has placed first twice in 2020, both at Fonner. The mare has had a Figure above 70 just once in her last 10 races. She's projected to post a second-place finish by numberFire's algorithm.

Moonfield (7/2) has won each of her last two races at Fonner Park -- both saw her attain Figures higher than 70. She also finished first in her first race of 2020. Our model has her finishing third.

Pick: Charmin Dixie (5/2)
