Bernard, Midfielder, Everton

Salary: $7,000

Both Everton and West Ham are coming off stunning victories prior to the international break. West Ham pulled off a miraculous multi-goal comeback in stoppage time to defeat Huddersfield, while Everton impressively beat Chelsea by two goals. While both results were positive, it is fair to say that defeating Chelsea is far more indicative of a side in good form than needing a last-minute comeback to get past Huddersfield. Both sides have been up and down recently, but Everton comes into this one with a more positive outlook, even on the road.

All of Everton's attacking options are in play, especially Dominic Calvert-Lewin ($8,500), who has made the forward role his own in recent weeks. With Calvert-Lewin, Sigurdsson, and Richarilson all in play, Bernard should a forgotten man in terms of ownership. Bernard's playing time has stabilized over recent weeks, with over 78 minutes played in each of Everton's last three matches. FanDuel point production hasn't been there, but two of those matches were against Liverpool and Chelsea. Bernard hasn't scored this season, but he has shown playmaking ability, totaling 3 assists and 32 chances created this season. Pairing him with Calvert-Lewin creates a low-cost, high-upside pairing for tournaments.

West Ham has been excellent at home recently, with three wins and two draws in their last six matches. However, their comeback victory over Huddersfield is masking their larger issues. They have conceded 23 goals at home this season, the fifth most in the Premier League. They have made up for that by scoring 27 goals, the second most of any non-elite side behind Bournemouth. Over their last six away matches, Everton has allowed the fourth-fewest goals in the Premier League. They should be able to take advantage of the same issues that Huddersfield did, but without conceding in return.
