Fabian Schar, Defender, Newcastle United

Salary: $7,500

After producing a goose egg in Matchweek 29 against West Ham, Schar is once again listed as the defender to avoid. Schar is listed as the top-priced defender on the slate, and he has averaged 23.3 FanDuel points this season -- the highest average among all defenders.

In his previous match against the Toffees, Schar had arguably his best performance of the season as he produced 41.4 FanDuel points, his highest point total without producing on the score sheet. Despite the production in the previous match, the Magpies are a difference squad from when they faced Everton the first time and have, as most squads do, performed better on their home pitch. With a 72.2% chance of finding the back of the net, per oddsmakers, Everton, as they have done in three of the last four road matches, will likely find the back of the net, eliminating the clean-sheet bonus for Schar.

The Toffees have allowed the sixth-most tackles (18), sixth-most clearances (22.36), second-fewest interceptions (8.57) and second-fewest blocked shots (2.0) per road match this slate. With City and the Spurs both on the slate, opposing defenders in those matches should face heavy pressure, and they all offer savings off Schar, who may still offer a decent floor, but on a slate with squads projected to score a large number of goals, savings could be important.
