As we just discussed, Manchester United should control their home match with Southampton, which means the Saints' back line will likely be very busy. That's been the case pretty often of late, and it's made Bednarek a high-floor option in DFS as he's scored at least 16.0 FanDuel points in eight consecutive EPL matches.

In that eight-match stretch, he's scored at least 27.0 FanDuel points twice without the benefit of a goal or assist. Bednarek has at least 10 combined defensive actions (clearances, tackles and interceptions) in each of his past seven matches.

In short, he offers as high of a floor as any defender, and that's especially the case in a spot in which Southampton should spend much of the match pinned back in their own half.

If you want to chase a defender with a better shot at getting in on the creation of a goal, you can look to Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy ($6,000), who may be ready to make his return from injury after getting on the bench on Wednesday. Mendy was a DFS monster earlier this season, recording an eye-popping five assists from his left-back spot across his first six league matches.
