Midfielder - Scott McTominay, Manchester United ($5,500)

McTominay was selected last weekend after Manchester United were hit with a series of injuries, and his play against Liverpool in the last match had manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer comparing him to Darren Fletcher. Fletcher scored 23 goals in his Premier League career with many coming in a United kit.

The team suffered more injuries in the match with Liverpool, with three players coming off and Marcus Rashford playing through a lower-body ailment, so McTominay should continue to be employed in a box-to-box role. Against Liverpool, he had two interceptions, three clearances, and two blocked shots. He also won three aerial duels and completed over 80% of his passes.

There is only one expected starting midfielder priced below McTominay on the slate, and his dirt-cheap salary will come in handy on a slate with a ton of appealing high-priced studs. Manchester United are undefeated in their last 16 matches against Crystal Palace, but McTominay will need to cover a lot of ground to make up for the injuries and keep that streak alive.

As a side note, consider Nathan Redmond ($7,000) as an option as he has been leading the line for Southampton despite being listed as a midfielder on FanDuel. New manager Ralph Hasenhuttl took over and gave him the easy recommendation to not stand still. Such a simple charge has helped make Redmond Southampton’s biggest threat in the final third, and Fulham have been in shambles at the back.
