Kieran Trippier, Defender, Tottenham

Salary: $6,500

Trippier is tied with four other players as the fourth-highest priced defender, and he has averaged 17.16 FanDuel points this season. Trippier has scored fewer than 19 FanDuel points in four straight starts while reaching that number in only 5 of his 14 appearances on the year.

The Wolves have a 56.9% chance of scoring at least one goal against Tottenham, a feat they have accomplished in seven of their nine road matches -- including four straight -- and have a 11.8% chance of beating the Spurs, per oddsmakers. Tottenham should be on the front foot for most of the match as Wolves are the 6th-worst squad at maintaining overall possession (46.9%) while Tottenham boasts the fifth-best possession percentage at 54.9%.

Most of Trippier’s DFS production comes from his involvement in the attack, but the Wolves do not relinquish a large number of defensive statistics. That could limit Trippier’s floor. They have allowed the third-most tackles (349), 10th-fewest blocked shots (58), sixth-fewest clearances (393), and fifth-fewest interceptions (195) to all positions while allowing the 10th-most tackles (1.76) eighth-most clearances (3.84), third-fewest blocked shots (0.25) and third-fewest interceptions (1.13) per 90 minutes to defenders since Matchweek 15.

With the majority of set-pieces, Trippier is always a threat to contribute to the Spurs’ score sheet, but the Wolves do allow the ninth-fewest crosses (329) and fifth-fewest chances created (393) to all positions this season and some of the other defenders right around his price point should see a large number of defensive opportunities, which should make them a safer option than Trippier.
