Eric Bailly, Defender, Manchester United

Salary: $6,500

Bailly is tied with three other players as the fourth-highest priced defender on the slate, and he has averaged 7.8 FanDuel points through seven matches. Bailly has started three straight matches for the Red Devils -- including one Champions League fixture -- and has averaged 12.67 FanDuel points in his four starts when going a full 90.

The Bluebirds have a 62.1% chance of scoring at least one goal against United, a feat they have accomplished in six of their nine home matches -- including three straight -- and have a 16.7%% chance of beating the Red Devils, per oddsmakers. The Red Devils should be on the front foot for most of the match as Cardiff are the worst squad at maintaining overall possession (40.5%) while United boasts the sixth-best possession percentage at 52.3%.

Bailly has not taken a shot in his seven appearances this season as the majority of his FanDuel points come from defensive actions, which will likely be limited against a Bluebirds squad that does not relinquish a large number of defensive statistics and should not possess the ball that often. Cardiff have allowed the sixth-most clearances (298), seventh-fewest blocked shots (32), fourth-fewest tackles (101) and third-fewest interceptions (74) to defenders this campaign.

The clean-sheet bonus is definitely in play for Bailly, but he does not offer a large ceiling and his floor may be limited due to the small amount of defensive actions available. For DFS players looking for that ceiling, Jose Holebas is at the same price point as Bailly and will be more involved in the attack than the United center-back.
