All the star power on the slate means that the most popular route to lineup construction likely won't include paying up at defender. Doing so is one way to differentiate your lineups in GPPs.

Alonso spent much of the early part of the campaign as one of the most expensive defenders, but his price has fallen as his ceiling has disappeared. After FanDuel outputs of 46.0 and 30.4 in two of the first four matchweeks, the Spaniard hasn't gone for more than 20.8 FanDuel points in a match since. But he has had some nice days in that span, posting five outings with at least 18.0 points.

Everything that made Alonso so enticing early in the season -- namely his ability to get forward on a top side as well as his free-kick duties -- is still working in his favor, but he hasn't been able to get on the scoresheet much, notching one assist and no goals since mid-September.

Alonso could remind us of his ceiling here as a home match with Leicester presents a great opportunity for him to get forward from his left-back spot, and he's always dangerous on free kicks. Also, the Foxes carry a meager 0.75-goal implied total, so Alonso has solid odds of getting the clean-sheet bonus.
