Individual Form Matters Regardless of Playing Time

Xherdan Shaqiri kept his form intact despite moving to the bench for the first time in six matches, scoring two goals last weekend against Manchester United. Both came off deflections, showing that it is possible that luck follows form. Four of his five goals have come at home, and Liverpool's game against Newcastle is at Anfield. Teammate Roberto Firmino found some of his attacking ways last week, as well, despite not scoring. He fired seven shots in the penalty area, which is encouraging.

On the other hand, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was held goalless for the third league match in a row. Arsenal were beaten and frustrations mounted for DFS owners. The other big name Arsenal striker, Alexandre Lacazette, is not getting much playing time but has been involved in three of the last four Arsenal goals that have come when he is on the pitch. If Arsenal give Lacazette a chance to start during the busy season, his form in limited minutes makes him a quality option.

Defensively, Aaron Wan-Bissaka ($5,500) and Crystal Palace had their second clean sheet over their last four matches. He continues to show his durability with runs down the right flank. Palace will likely struggle against Manchester City, but Wan-Bissaka will be busy defensively. Palace also have a good Boxing Day matchup against Cardiff, which can keep his returns coming in.
